The Middleton Family - Chapter 2

At the end of week 1, Esther Middleton, a CAS elder adopted two children, Amar and Cherry. A Romance Sim, Esther was thwarted by her age from ever obtaining her LTW of reaching the top of the Music Career Track. This week, she decides to do what comes naturally to a Romance sim, at least that way she'll achieve some satisfaction from her life.

"Whilst the children were at school on Monday, I invited Ron Sartor over from Red's Diner in Downtown. I'd known him for a while, and although there wasn't much immediate chemistry between us, I soon changed that. It was easy really, just a few well timed compliments, and he was putty in my hands."

"As the narrator and instigator of my life has failed to provide me with a room large enough to furnish a double bed, I had to resort to the front lawn, but I don't think either Ron or myself cared that much. I'm just happy to finally have my first woohoo. I mean not many women wait until they're 64 years old. I just hope everything still works, as I've often heard the expression 'use it, or lose it'!"

"Everything worked fine, and I found myself euphoric for the first time ever. I'd heard of platinum aspiration, and if this was it, I wanted more. Of course I'd be a happy normal Mother to my kids whilst they were around, but I determined that from now on I'd also listen to my own needs, and pursue my goals as well."

"The following day, as soon as the school bus left, I rang Goopy Gilscarbo, and invited him on a date downtown. I couldn't believe it when 'she' decided coming to Red's was a good idea. I'd already informed 'her' Ron worked here. That's the same Ron who came over for yesterday for a game of sheet wrangling on the front lawn. Why did you do it, tell me that?"

Before you go any further, let me say in my defence, I did warn all of you I've never played Romance sims. I'm just not used to all the jealousy and intrigue. All my previous 'hoods run along the same lines. Nice and suburban, no gossip, no cheating, no sex before marriage, and no sims with less than 5 in nice. All the houses look the same, with the same homely white picket fences, and untipped trash cans. I'm so sorry, but I'm as new to Romance sims as you are to woohoo.

"Luckily I at least put some effort into my first attempt. Your's was pathetic!"

"With the date almost ruined, I now had a stalker on my tail. At least Komei Tellerman could no longer be blamed for all of the trash can kicking which went on in the neighbourhood, so someone was happy."

"The following morning I could hardly wait for Cherry and Amar to board the school bus. I'd not slept a wink all night thinking about Goopy. I hadn't even changed out of my work clothes. Goopy soon forgave me for the debacle of yesterday, and with an expanded bedroom, I invited him to relax on my newly installed double bed. The lawn was completely out of the question now, as Ron was doing a walkby every hour, and was sure to end up slapping me. Again!"

Actually, that would be great, as I missed the photo last time. I was just so shocked. I'd never seen that happen before.

"You're kidding, right?"

"Anyhow, I made sure Goopy had left by the time the kids got home. In my excitement, I'd almost forgotten Amar was due to grow up that evening. I hadn't even bought him a cake. He didn't seem to mind, although he was less than happy with his clothes and hair."

He was less than happy! I'm hardly ecstatic, have you seen his LTW? This is so another sim destined for a free University roll. Although I agree with him. The hair and clothes did suck. I prefer the windswept look, to the pudding bowl over the head cut he sported previously.

I was so disgusted with his LTW, I put him straight in a taxi and sent him to University. He didn't even have time to change out of his pyjamas. Act in haste, repent at leisure - I'd forgotten to ring and claim his scholarships. So that's another lesson learnt today!

"The following evening Cherry grew up. Now she's older she no longer bears such a striking resemblance to Abhijeet Depiesse. In fact I'm very proud of my daughter, she's turned into quite a stunner."

"Before leaving for Uni., Cherry insisted getting me a dog for company whilst she and Amar were gone. Little did she know I had no intention of being lonely. But I couldn't tell her that. So meet Utah, who was adopted from the local Pet Adoption Centre. I'm sure he'll be very happy here until Cherry comes home. And I'm hoping he'll be nice to strangers, as I expect he'll be meeting a few, if I have my way."

"Cherry left the following night, and although I was sad to see her go, I didn't plan on moping around until she got back."

"The following morning I invited my best friend, Mary Swinton, over for coffee. Soon I was in platinum again. Life is turning into so much fun. See you next update."
