The King Family - Chapter 2

Last week in the King household Eliza was left holding the fort when her son abandoned his two kids to become a space pirate. Realising her own lifetime goal of earning a fortune was now never likely to happen, she adapted to her new life well, picking up the role of main carer and provider where she'd left off years before. She'd always known her son was never one for responsibility, and she'd been proved right. He'd not made contact or sent any money since leaving. Not that she'd expected it. Eliza will narrate this update.
"Well it was good news all round Monday, as Hepzibah became a Star Pupil, and I gained a Gold Fishing Badge. I'm sure to win 'Elder Angler of the Year' now, if I live long enough for next years tournament. I'm starting to get a bit creaky in the hips, and running round after this young minx doesn't help. Not that I begrudge it, there's life in the old dog yet, and Hepzibah is such a sweetie. Everybody just loves her.
"
"She's always bringing some kid home from school. Here she is hugging Amin Swinton, who was adopted by my friend Edna. He's a sweet lad, but as blind as a bat. He can't catch a ball for toffee. I shall have to ring Edna and ask if she's noticed. It don't make no difference to Hepz though, she just thinks he's the cutest thing, with his little hat and all."

"The following night she brought home Cherry Middleton. Now I have it on good authority that she's the secret love child of Abijheet Depiesse. I'm glad she's found a nice home with Esther, who's heart is in the right place, but Lordy, I've been hearing some strange rumours about the goings on over there. Apparently Esther has taking to having people over in the afternoon, and not for tea and cake if you get my drift. Dagmar the mail girl caught her with that Host from Red's Diner, bold as brass, on the front lawn. Shocking!"

"Anyhows, Hepzibah finally grew up. I knew it was going to happen, but it's still a shock. Time passes so quick, and I know I'm not going to be here forever. But I'm starting to worry about what will happen to me once both my grandkids go off to college."

"It was a disappointment when she chose a life of Pleasure like her father. Real life's not all pleasure, and you often only learn by your disappointments and pain. Still, you can't live a youngun's life for them. And as the saying goes 'youth is wasted on the young', and maybe she'll learn from her mistakes."

"Elijah isn't as gifted academically as his sister, but he finally made Star Pupil. Although I approve of his fortune aspiration, I think he'd be wasting his life training all them pets like he want's to. Still, as the saying goes 'one man's meat is another man's poison', and I can't change his mind, although it wouldn't be my cup of tea."

"He did well to get so many scholarships. I had to lie to the Authorities, and tell them his parents were both dead. And I don't like to think of it as a lie, as for all intents and purposes they are. I mean, their Dad hasn't shown his face since the day he walked out of their lives. I'm not sorry about a little fib if it will make Elijah's time at University happier."

"I'm already sick of Hepz's new aspiration. Jumping on the couch, I ask you. I drew the line when she wanted to go back to playing with toys. You want toys missy, I told her, you make them yourself. I'm not prepared to pander to her hairbrained whims a moment longer."

"Not all of her efforts were quite so successful as this."

"At least she's learnt a valuable lesson. 'Things are not always what they appear at first glance'. That evil clown frightened the bejaysus out of her, and although it wasn't funny, it may bring her to her senses."

"With Elijah left for University, and Hepzibah working hard for scholarships, I was finding myself quite lonely. I even welcomed the dishwasher breaking down, just for a chance to talk to the repair person. I'm starting to worry I might not reach my maximum influence level, which everyone knows is a Sims obligation. I need another 3 friends, or else I die in disgrace. Oh well, she looks friendly enough, so I'm going to make the effort to speak to her."

"Here's another good tip. If all else fails, bribe them with money. It always works for me. Anyways, I'm off to ring round a few people. I like to keep up to date on what's happening in the neighbourhood. Not that I'd ever dream of gossiping mind you. It just wouldn't happen!"

Hepzibah is growing up nicely... and with any luck will not be jumping on the couch forever. (I hate pleasure sims...)

Heh jumpin' on the sofa. That is too funny when a Sim does that autonomously. Hepzibah is lovely. I am looking forward to see Elijah and all his pets. :)

I actually like Pleasure Sims. If I was a Sim, Pleasure would be my secondary Aspiration, as Knowledge would be my primary. Hepzibah is beautiful, and I love her outfit. Congrats on the Gold badge. But Eliza, only gossips know that much about their neighbors, lol.

"If all else fails, bribe them." Too funny! Great job with these guys. I can tell you're not a fan of Pleasure sims. I love them myself.
