The Dowling Family - Chapter 2

Last week Erica started a new life in Fortunicity after her Father placed her here in an effort to keep her safe from possible retaliation by a local Crime syndicate. Although he was willing to put his own life in danger, he couldn't bear to think what might happen to his daughter if he was discovered as 'the man on the inside'.

"Even though I can't be with her, I receive news about her daily. I have a friend keeping watch over her, an old SAS buddy from the past, Seth Platz. He'd relocated here, and was the one who told me about Fortunicity in the first instance. Seth spends alot of time with her, and they've become best friends. He knows the score, and I've sworn him to secrecy. He hasn't even let on to Erica that he knows me, which is probably for the best. I knew she'd be fine, as she has a level head on her shoulders, albeit filled with dreams of boys and romance."

"Seth tells me she's become very artistic, and also has herself a job. Way to go Erica! Seems she's alot tougher than she looks."

"She's also started experimenting with boys, and I just hope she's being careful. I've heard from Seth that the town is becoming a contraception free zone in the very near future, and woohoo will become much more risky from then on. I think he said it was to make the residents life's a little more exciting, and also to encourage a population boom. Having babies seems to be a thing of the past, as more sims opt for careers over family. I just hope Erica realises the risk and holds off woohoo till after she's been to University. I want my baby to get an education if nothing else."
"She's a good dancer by all accounts, and enjoys practising with the local male population! I just hope to heaven that's all they're practicing."

"I don't think she's serious about any of them. No sooner has one left the house than she's thinking about her next conquest."

"Seth invites her downtown alot, to meet the locals. She's now good friends with Marylena Hamilton and Sandy Bruty, who she met whilst on one of their outings."

"Young wannabe Lothario, Ricky Cornier, follows her home from school alot. Erica's probably wise enough to realise he's alot like her, and she's not the only girl he lusts after."

"I hear from Seth she's also been seen out alot with a boy called Orlando. It probably won't last, as he's after much more in terms of commitment. Still, a teenage romance can't hurt him none."

"She seems committed to University lately, and I don't think it will be long before she up and goes. She's the impulsive type, but once she makes up her mind she tends to stick to it."

"I think it was that Siobhan girl who finally swung her decision to leave. Seth said she dropped by the house, gloating about all her scholarships. Erica hates to be outdone in anything, and if Siobhan was going, she was too. She told Seth to look after the place while she was gone. She believes it's her only link to me, and that she has to move back in here, or I might not find her if and when I return."

"The following day she applied for scholarships, and was awarded over $6,000. They even granted her the one for orphans. I could have cried when I heard that. But at least everyone believes her phony new identity. I suppose I should be grateful."

"That night after finishing work, she just upped and left. I don't know who'll watch out for her at Uni. I suppose my baby really is finally out there in the big wide world on her own."
