The Middleton Family
I think the problem is that one elderly sim hardly makes for a family. Also, for the life of me, I cannot think of a convincing storyline for poor Esther. Who, in their right mind, would up sticks and move into the middle of nowhere, especially for their retirement years?. Knowing Esther will never obtain her lifetime want makes the process of playing her seem pointless. In addition, the household will cease to exist when she expires, which doesn't provide any impetus or stimulus to me, the poor narrator. Knowing I love Family sims, I decide to let Esther adopt. Even if it doesn't make her that happy, it'll make me ecstatic!

Building a house on a budget takes some doing, but with a bit of fishing thrown in for extra income, Esther soon has a house and a $3,000 nest egg. Enough to adopt hopefully!

Esther seems quite excited by the prospect of adoption, and hangs around outside the house on the pretext of recycling the newspaper.

Amar soon makes himself at home, and goes platinum within moments of arriving. Making friends does that for sims!

Finally a sim that Esther can feel comfortable with, and relate to. Eliza King recently moved to the area too, and is busy bringing up a family single handedly. Esther listens to the advice about college, and vows to get Amar straight on the easel when he gets home. After all it's never to early to start working on those scholarships, as Eliza reminds her.

Komei Tellerman strikes again! Esther quickly composts the rubbish for the garden lot she's planning once funds allow.

Esther decides in for a penny, in for a pound, and adopts another child. Well, as she reasons, they'll be company for each other if anything happens to her. Also she's starting to wish she herself had more family.

When Cherry arrived I was immediately struck by her resemblence to Abijheet Depiesse. Is it possible Abijheet has had a secret love child, and I'm the only one to have discovered his guilty secret? On another note, that hat has got to go!

That's an improvement Abijheet, oops I mean Cherry.

Esther's very proud when Amar becomes a Star Pupil after just two days at school. The boy is either incredibly lucky, or extremely gifted. Either way, he's made his new Mama proud.

The following afternoon Cherry proudly displays her report card. Esther's over the moon. Who would have thought she'd be lucky enough to adopt not one, but two child geniuses.

The family spend alot of time fishing, as it's they're only income at the moment. It seems the kids excel at most things they turn their hand to.

Amar soon hauls in a monster catfish!

Not to be outdone, Cherry soon acquires her Bronze Fishing Talent Badge. She's decided to work hard and hopefully steal the 'Young Angler of the Year Award' from Elliot Clarke next year!

This family was really hard work until I adopted the kids. I'm now looking forward to playing them next time, to discover how Amar and Cherry grow up.

Love your new start. And I absolutely LOVE Cherry's hair. It's so cute.

Sorry you lost your old neighborhood, but I look forward to reading more about this one. Just one word I read twice and couldn't for the life of me figure it out - "whinged". So I just went to dictionary.com. You learn something new everyday! I guess it's a British or Australian term.

What a great solution to having just an elder sim to start with. I thought you could meet and move someone in but adoption is even better!

Too funny! Cherry DOES have Abihjeet's face!

And you want to know something weird? I have a founding family that is two female adult elders (haven't gotten around to writing about them yet). I had them adopt and their little girl jumped off the van with the exact same hat. It must be standard issue at the Sims'Home for Oprhans. ;)

I agree, I think you found Abijheet Depiesse secret love child. The hat made Cherry look like a boy. Good choice changing it.

I'm glad you adopted kids. There's nothing more dispiriting then playing a Sim house you don't enjoy...

Those are some smart kids! I still haven't had a kid that smart. Maybe I should adopt more often. I'm glad the kids made the lot more enjoyable. You and Rachel would get along well.

Wow a house with just an elder, that must have been boring. Thank goodness for adoption and they are lovely kids even if Cherry is Abihjeet's love child. I love it when the family fishes together, so nice.
